Nitori International Scholarship was established in march with a monetary donation from akiko NITORI the director of the foundation. The main aim is to help international students from the Asian countries to grant them scholarship to study in Japan so that they can fulfill their dreams to study at Japan Universities to set up mutual friendship between Asian countries and to cultivate the human resource.
Eligibility
- A student from the world over with non-Japanese nationality who is self-supporting and residing in Japan.
- A student currently is enrolled in a Japanese university as an undergraduate or a graduate student, and an undergraduate student is up to age 26 on April 1, 2012 and a graduate student is up to age 28 on April 1, 2012.
- A student who needs financial aid to keep studying in Japan and does not receive any sort of other scholarship
- A student who is of good enough health to pursuit studies in Japan, of excellent academic record, of good personality
- A student who has good communication skill in Japanese.
- A student who has the strong will to contribute international understanding and mutual friendship
- A student who is able to attend Scholarship Students Activities held by NISF (scheduled to be held twice a year).
- A student who does not receive any sort of scholarship or subsidy for researcher from the other third parties while receiving the scholarship from NISF
Application Procedure
Application
First selection and Second selection
Application: Access NISF website → Enter Scholarship Application 2012 → Fill out the application form on the website and entry it. No documents are required at the time of Web-entry. )
First selection: NISF select some of applicants by the information which the applicants entry in the application form and notice them. The applicants who pass on the First selection can take Web-test.
Second selection; NISF select some of applicants by the result of Web-test and notice them
The applicants who pass on the Second selection can take Interview.
Interview
The first interview is scheduled to be held in Feburary 2012.
The following documents written in Japanese will be required for the first interview.
- Check list of documents
- Photograph (5cmX4cm, upper body shot, full name written on the back face of the Photo)
- Supplementary information Form (you fill out )
- Certificate of enrollment (or a copy of the notice of admission for those expecting to enroll at a graduate school)
- Copy of the Alien Registration Card (for confirmation of address, name and status of residence)
- Transcript of scholastic records
- Letter of recommendation (written by the dean or supervising professor), one A4 page.
- Proof of parents' earnings
- Proof of applicant's earnings from the previous year (issued by the Japanese local government) and part-time work income statement of the current year.
- Proof of rent
- Copy of the Score Report for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) or copy of the Certificate of Proficiency for Level 1 Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
