Summer Undergraduate Internship for Indian Student, Khorana Scholarships at University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), USA

Program Overview
The Khorana Scholars program will pay all expenses for up to 80 Indian students to travel to UW-Madison and partner U.S. universities to engage in a hands-on research project. Indian students will be matched with a faculty member at a partner university in the U.S. based on what type of project they would like to work on. This is an excellent opportunity to apply lab skills in an indepen­dent environment. At the end of the program, students will present their projects at a symposium.

Program Dates: Mid-May to End July 2012


Eligibility :

1. Candidates currently enrolled in B.Tech, M.Tech, or M.Sc. courses in science, engineering, and medicine are eligible to apply. You must be currently enrolled in recognized institution of higher education in India. This program is not open to those who already have a graduate or undergraduate degree.

2. The applicant should have a have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.5 or higher (Percentage equivalent: 80% and higher).

3. Candidates are encouraged to submit the application as a single pdf document. Scans or other electronic versions of documents will also be accepted.

4. Applications in subject-fields other than those specified in the advertisement will not be considered.

5. Incomplete applications and applications received after the stipulated date will not be considered.

Expenses and Funding Opportunities
The program will pay all expenses for Indian students to travel to the United States to engage in a hands-on research project. This includes a stipend, accommodation, and airfare. Accommodations will be arranged when finalist are selected. Students may be responsible for covering minor administrative costs.
