Full Scholarship for Master and Doctorate in Photonics Engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics (EUROPHOTONICS) - Eramus Mundus Program

The EUROPHOTONICS EMMC Master course and EMJD Doctorate program bring together top level training and teaching for young scientists. They offer fellowships and mobility possibilities within the EUROPHOTONICS consortium institutions for EU and non-EU students.

The EUROPHOTONICS EMMC Master course gives an extensive two-year Master level teaching program focusing on advanced research and applied topics that will constitute the near and extended future scientific goals in the field of Photonics Engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics, with interdisciplinary applications. Master students benefiting from this program will be able to work on today’s new challenges in their academic or applied research careers: understand and control matter and optical phenomena at the ultimate nanometric scale, provide new imaging and monitoring tools for the most complex biological processes from cells and tissues to clinical applications, bring new and original tools for the future optical devices.
This two years master program is organized by three groups of institutions:
  • Paul Cézanne Aix Marseille III University (FRANCE) (coordinator)
  • KSOP (Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics) : KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) (GERMANY)
  • Barcelona Universities (SPAIN) :
    • UPC - Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya
    • ICFO – Institute of Photonic Sciences
    • UB - Universitat de Barcelona
    • UAB - Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona
The EUROPHOTONICS EMJD Doctorate program addresses, in the laboratories of the consortium below, the coming challenges in Photonics Engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics. This doctorate program is based on a consortium of excellence research institutes and universities in the field, which goal is to involve co-tutelle doctorate students in cutting-edge research projects profiting from the complementarity between the partners, as well as a wide range of research training and teaching plans that includes fundamental and general sciences, technology, languages and communication, research and industrial management, technology transfer, career exploratory support, international meetings, workshops and conference participation.
This three-year doctorate program is organized by five institutions:
  • Institut Fresnel (Paul Cézanne Aix Marseille III University) (FRANCE)
  • KSOP (Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics) : KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) (GERMANY)
  • UPC – Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (SPAIN)
  • ICFO – Institute of Photonic Sciences  (SPAIN)
  • LENS (European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy) (Universita degli Studi di Firenze) (ITALY)
