USDA Borlaug Fellowship In Agriculture Science for Indonesian Applicant

Description
The Borlaug Fellowship Program promotes food security and economic growth by increasing scientific knowledge, advancing the transfer of new agricultural technology, and encouraging collaborative research to improve agricultural productivity. It offers training and collaborative opportunities to agricultural scientists, faculty and policymakers. Each Fellow works one-on-one with a U.S. mentor who coordinates the Fellow’s training. After completing the U.S.-based portion of the fellowship, the mentor visits the Fellow’s home institution to continue collaboration.

Eligibility

Candidates will be evaluated, interviewed and selected based on the following criteria:
  1. Citizen of Indonesia;
  2. Good working knowledge of the English language;
  3. Holds a master’s degree with a minimum of two years of practical experience;
  4. Currently employed by a university, government, research institution and/or other institution with the intent to continue working in the home country for a minimum of two years following the returnfrom the United States;
  5. Early to midstage of professional career; and
  6. Experience and focus in Food Safety, Agricultural Extension, or Postharvest Techniques.

Application Procedure
Eligible candidates are invited to submit their completed application, including the following attachments;
  1. Application form;
  2. Program proposal (two to three pages) and action plan;
  3. Signed approval from applicant's home institution;
  4. Two letters of recommendation;
  5. Copy of college/university transcript(s) from which degree(s) was received;
  6. Copy of passport identification page; and
  7. One passport sized photo.
