Scholarships & Funding by Said Foundation/UCL Joint Scholarships, UK

Description
Each year, the Said Foundation and UCL offer up to six scholarships to study for a one-year Master's degree in any subject at UCL.

Eligibility
  1. be under forty years of age
  2. be of Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian or Syrian nationality, normally resident in the Arab world and not hold any form of British residency
  3. hold or expect to achieve a good first degree
  4. provide evidence of proficiency in English
  5. have at least two years' work experience
  6. apply for admission at UCL (see Important Information above)
  7. be prepared to sign a binding undertaking to return to their home country or a country of the Arab League for a set period following the funded studies in the UK

Application Procedure

Applicants in the Middle East should contact the British Council offices in East Jerusalem, Amman, Beirut, Damascus or Gaza and submit their applications through one of these British Council offices by 31st January.

There is no restriction on the programmes that can be chosen for study. However, applicants will be expected to demonstrate how the Master's programme they chose will enable them to be of more use to their home country or the Middle East Region as a whole.
