Researh Fellowship at Institute for Advanced Study - Paris, France

Description
The IAS-Paris general programme offers residential research fellowships of nine or five months to established
senior researchers (Professors, Associate Professors...) in the humanities and social sciences. They may apply:
  • either for the entire academic year (9-month research stays, October through June)
  • or for one semester (5-month stays, September through January, February through June).
The programme is open to all disciplines in the fields of the humanities and social sciences (HSS). Multi-or trans disciplinary applications at the frontiers of life and exact sciences with a HSS component are also accepted, provided that the research project does not require laboratory or access to specific facilities.

Eligibility
  • be in possession of a PhD degree for at least three years
  • have at least three years of research experience, full-time equivalent
  • hold an academic or research position (Assistant Professor or equivalent).
  • Researchers from all countries are eligible. However, they cannot apply for the Paris Institute if they reside in metropolitan France, were they French or from other countries.

Application Procedure
Candidates apply through the online application system. Paper applications are not accepted. To access the online application system, please create an account ("user account") and follow the procedure. After the registration of your account, you will have to fill in an application form and to upload the relevant documents, in English or in French.
  • The completed IAS-Paris application form
  • CV & list of publications (up to 20 pages)
  • A detailed project proposal (7500-15000 characters/1000-2000 words), including:. a selected bibliography covering the proposed topic. details on existing or envisaged academic connexions in France
  • Two summaries, in English and in French, of 1500 characters/200 words maximum, including the title of the project.
