National Security of Accountants (NSA) Scholarship Foundation, USA

Description
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Eligibility

1. Be undergraduates, enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited two-year or four year college or university in the United States - majoring in accounting. a) Students in an accredited two-year college may apply during their first year or during their second year if transferring to a four-year institution, provided they are committed to a major in accounting throughout the remainder of their college career, or b) Students in an accredited four-year college may apply for a scholarship for their second, third, or fourth year of studies, provided they are committed to a major in accounting throughout the remainder of their college career.
2. Have a “B” (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better grade point average.
3. Be a United States or Canadian citizen enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited two-year or four year college or university in the United States.

Application Procedure
Interested students must complete the attached application. A complete transcript of  grades must be sent with this application. Online transcripts must display student name,  school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which the course  was taken. Students currently or previously enrolled in college or vocational technical school must include all college or vocational-technical transcripts of grades
from each school attended.

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students, USA

Description
The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the Accounting Education Foundation of Texas Society of CPAs, the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For over four decades, this program has provided over $14.6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars.

Eligibility

• An underrepresented minority in the accounting profession (e.g., Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; or Asian American)
• Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (12 semester hours or equivalent) or a full-time graduate level student (9 semester hours or equivalent) for the 2011-12 academic year. (Note: an exception may be made if you plan to participate in an internship program.)
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate-level degree in an “accounting-related” major. (“Accounting-related” shall be as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor’s sole discretion.)
• Planning to pursue the CPA licensure but not presently be a CPA 
• Maintained an overall and major GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) 
• Completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting, by end of spring 2011 
• Applied to or been accepted into a public or private, 501(c) four-year college or university located in the U.S. states or territories. The business program must be accredited by the AACSB and/or ACBSP.

• A U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) 
• Some financial need (i.e., not receiving a full or partial scholarship(s) and/or grant(s) that cover and/or exceed one’s educational expenses)
