Scholarship For PhD Students in Solid State Electrochemistry – Direct Conversion of Carbon to Electricity at Tehnical University Denmark, Denmark

Description
The aim of the PhD project is to develop and investigate electrode materials for a hybrid solid oxide fuel cell. Topics include:
  1. synthesis and structural characterization of novel electrode materials, using e.g. X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis
  2. electrochemical characterization using cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy
  3. test and characterization of cells using scanning electron microscopy and mass spectrometry

Eligibility
  1. Master’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree 
  2. strong background in electrochemistry or solid state chemistry
  3. ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated tasks, and to be a part of a large, dynamical group
  4. good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
