The Helen M. McLoraine Figure Skating Scholarship, USA

Description
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.

Eligibility
  1. Be high school seniors or graduates or be current postsecondary undergraduates.
  2. Plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2012-2013 academic year.
  3. Self-attest that they have competed at least once in a U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competition at the novice or higher level in either the Mens, Ladies, Dance, or Pairs event.

Application Procedure
Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades to Scholarship Management Services.

Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken. Documentation showing the applicant has competed at the novice or higher level in a U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competition and pages one and two of most recently filed IRS 1040 tax form where the applicant is claimed as a federal tax exemption also need to be sent with the application.

School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering International Excellence Scholarship at Leeds University, UK

Description
The School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering will be awarding one full fee international excellence scholarship to the top international student applicant for 2012 entry.

Eligibility
Any potential international student applicant who has been offered a place on any of the postgraduate masters courses within the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. You must also be liable to pay full fees at the international rate of £16,200.

International Santander Undergraduate Scholarships, UK


Description
There are two University of Sheffield Santander Undergraduate Scholarships 2012. These scholarships are available for students starting their undergraduate degree in any faculty at the University. Each scholarship will take the form of a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for the first year of study only


Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a scholarship students must be self-funded and be a national of, or permanently domiciled in one of the following countries:  Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal,     Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela.

The University of Sheffield Santander Undergraduate Scholarships 2012 will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and a short personal statement detailing an applicant's personal goals and how studying at the University of Sheffield could help achieve those goals.

Application Procedure

If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply to study via UCAS. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply for a scholarship from January 2012 onwards.

Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.

Postgraduate Scholarship- Health and Safety in Homecare (Youth Services) at The University of Sidney, Australia

Description
Postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good Honours degree in a social or health science discipline to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in occupational health. This scholarship is funded by an ARC Linkage Projects grant and will provide support for three years on a full-time basis. The project will identify OHS risks and hazards in homecare work. The PhD student’s research will examine OHS risks and hazards in one type of homecare work – youth services. Their research will contribute to the development of interventions to secure healthier, safer and more sustainable workplaces for homecare workers.

The scholarship is valued at $27,222 per annum (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Eligibility
Applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A Degree in a social or health sciences discipline. A Masters level qualification or background in occupational health and safety, industrial relations or work psychology would be an advantage. International students can apply, but the scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international students.

The Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, invites applications for an assistant professorship in Communication and IT to be filled by 1 August 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Job content
An assistant professorship is a three-year, fixed-term academic position involving research and teaching. The person appointed to the post will be obliged to complete a course in university teaching devised especially for assistant professors, and is expected to be able to take part in all the activities of the Department, including examinations and administration. At the end of the three-year period, provided the appropriate funding is secured, a post of associate professor will be advertised for which the assistant professor may apply.

  • Applicants must be able to document research at the PhD level under digital media and communication.
  • Applicants must be able to document an ability to plan and undertake teaching within one or more of the key subject areas of the Communication and IT study programme: Basic Theory of Communication, Empirical Analysis Methods, Audiovisual Communication, Communication in Context, and Theory of Science.

India scholarships at Maastrich University, Netherlands

Description
Maastricht University aims to further strengthen its position as a leading European university offering high-quality education with an international orientation. To this end, the university implements a proactive recruitment policy for Indian students, in particular for the master’s programmes. Scholarships are made available by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund in order to encourage talented Indian students to follow a Master's programme at Maastricht University. One of these scholarships is the India Scholarship.

Eligibility
Applicants must be admissible for a master’s programme or graduate programme for professionals at Maastricht University and must not be older than 35 years at the start of the academic year (1 September 2012).

Scholarship applicants must have obtained excellent results in their previous studies. This must be shown in the application file by including, for example, grade lists or reference letters. In case of equivalent qualification, preference will be given to applications, which show that the applicant is among the top 5%.

Applicants must be Indian residents and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
